La La Land-iversary

Dear Londann,

I celebrate my one-year La La Land-iversary in the snow of the Swiss Alps. The excitement, frustration, proud achievements and terror of the last 365+ days have been a result of recognizing unwanted habits and patterns in my life and the desire to seek healthy challenges that have – hands down – made me a better human. Looking back I think – who knew I had the courage to do all this!?

Pigtails!Driving across this great country not only exposed me to our beautiful land, but also brought me tremendously closer to an amazing friend and soulmate. Feeling truly understood is one of the best feelings in the world.

Starting a new job in a brand new industry and finding my way around a diverse neighborhood in the city-sprawl of LA made me stronger and more patient, just when I thought that was impossible. I am proud to be able to say that I didn’t just survive; I rocked it. No matter what anyone says.

Now, nine times out of ten I will choose to travel the path that yields the better story and not necessarily the better paycheck. You can only be happy for others when you are truly happy deep within yourself, and we all need each other’s support! It’s a long and winding road but also a seemingly short life, so we have got to make the absolute best of it and inspire others to do the same.Last day on the slopes in Verbier

There’s no doubt that the people I’ve met – both awesome and awful – have made these experiences possible and enriched my stories tenfold. Connecting with new people, making real friends and unknowingly establishing more family is invigorating. I’ve learned the importance of keeping my biggest supporters in the closest orbit around me and dismissing those who judge, label or slow me down.

As long as your eyes are open to seeing new things and your mind is open to learning new things, prepare to be blown away by what this life really has to offer! “When you come to the end of all the light you know, and it’s time to step into the darkness of the unknown, faith is knowing that one of two things shall happen: Either you will be given something solid to stand on or you will be taught to fly.”

And flying is so fun!

❤ Your Aunt Danielle 🙂
